It couldn`t have got bigger for Kareena Kapoor. The younger of the Kapoor sisters has the best of banners signing her, despite a dismal show at the box-office. The good news is that this time round, it`s a director no less than the master of meaningful films, Govind Nihalani, who has cast her in a leading role in his forthcoming film.

Nihalani`s film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Om Puri. Though not much is known about Kareena`s role, it`s a major coup for Bebo, who has so far been doing glamour roles.Kareena seems to be learning the tricks of the trade from Karisma, her elder sister, who branched out into serious cinema, working with the likes of Shyam Benegal. But, while Karisma had to go through hordes of inane films with David Dhawan, before gaining acceptance and respectability, Kareena has had it easy from the word go.

With both sisters getting into the arty mode, the competition gets tougher on the Kapoor home turf!
